Although the air will be noticeably thin at the starting line, Echo Lake's 10,600 feet of elevation is just the beginning.

COURSE RECORD BONUS! Our course record bonus starts off at $250 to the top male and female finishers. If the prizes go unclaimed, we will increase the bonus by $100 each year until the record has been broken! We saw a new course record for women in 2016, so the women's course record bonus will be $250 in 2016. The men's record has gone unbroken since 2008, so this year the men are gunning for a $1050 course record bonus!

FINISHER AWARDS: In addition to age group and overall winner awards, All finishers will receive a custom Mt. Evans Ascent finisher's medal. In addition, all men who finish in under 2 hours 40 minutes, and all women who finish under 3 hours will receive a trophy rock marked with the year of the race. This was a tradition from the 70's and 80's that we brought back in 2012. Please see our Race History Page for a photo of trophy rocks from the early days of the Mt. Evans Ascent.

Age Group Awards: Awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers in the age 19 & under category, as well as the top three in all 5 year age groups beginning with 20-24.

Overall & Master Prize Money: A cash prize of $300 will be awarded to the top male and female overall finishers, $150 for second, and $100 for third. A $100 cash award will be presented to the top overall M/F masters finishers (age 40 & over). In addition, there will be a cash bonus to the first place male and female finishers if they break the existing course records. Cash bonuses start at $250, then go up by $100 every year the record remains unbroken. In 2016, course record bonuses will be $1050 for men and $250 for women. Cash winners are eligible for multiple cash awards (overall, masters, and CR), however cash winners will not be eligible for awards in their age groups.

Post Race Festivities: Echo Lake Lodge will be catering our post-race meal. Great food, and awards will be available at the Echo Lake Lodge, adjacent to the start line, starting at 10am. Post race food is available for athletes, only, however the restaurant will be open for spectators to purchase food.
