Series Finisher Awards to all runners who finish all three series races!!!

The Racing Underground Winter Running Series brings you three amazing runs at three unique venues! The races are geared toward all ability levels, with a family-friendly atmosphere, discounted youth entries, and free professional race photo downloads

Participate in one event, or race all three! Discounted series entries are available for both the 5K-5K-5K series or the 5K-10K-Half Marathon series, and inexpensive youth (age 12 & under) entry fees are offered for all 5K runs!

Each race features gender specific adult shirts and youth size cotton T's, tasty post race food, steaming hot cocoa, and Jill's world famous home baked banana chocolate chip bread!!!

  • Superior Stocking Run 5k
    December 13, 2025

    The series kicks off with the Superior Stocking Run, a festive 5K in the town of Superior on December 13th. Last year we will be introduced a brand new course that starts and finishes on Main Street in Superior. The new course and venue was a big hit which was the kickoff to a full day of family fun at the Superior Winter Festival.

  • Yeti Chase 5k & 10k

    Race number two is the popular Yeti Chase 5K & 10K at Bear Creek Lake Park in Lakewood on January 25th. This is the 16th year for the Yeti Chase, and it has sold out well before race day in all previous years. After chasing down the Yeti, runners wander the park's 2,500 acres, known for its diverse bird and waterfowl population as well as stunning views of the foothills.

    Half Marathon & 5k

    The series finale comes at the Ralston Creek Half-Marathon & 5K in Arvada on February 15th. The Ralston Creek Half-Marathon has established itself as Colorado's premier winter half marathon. The Ralston Creek 5K Run round's out our 5K series, with a flat and fast course! Both race courses follow a scenic mix of road and bike path through Arvada's beautiful west side.

  • The Winter Running Series uses a stage-race style - scoring format. We simply add-up your times from each event to arrive at your series time!

    Series awards will be presented to the top male and female runners with the fastest combined times in each 5-year age group starting with 20-24 in both series. Youth awards for the 5K-10K-Half Series will be presented in the 19 & under category. Youth awards in the 5K-5K-5K Series will be awarded in the 12 & under division, and the 13-19 division. Awards will also be presented to the top-3 non-binary runners with the fastest combined times in the 5k-5k-5k series and the 5k-10k-half series.

    Awards at each event will be based on each runner's age on race day. Series standings, however, will be based on each runner's age on December 13th (the date of the first series race) to avoid the possibility of someone changing age groups during the course of the series.

    Since the Stocking Run is a 5k event for both series, we allow runners to switch from the long to the short series and from the short to the long series until 9:30am on the morning of the Yeti Chase. No series switches will be allowed after this time.

    Times will be considered final at midnight on the third day after each race. If you would like to request a correction to the results, the request must be made prior to this deadline.

Your entry into the Racing Underground Winter Running Series includes a spot on the start line at all three races, three well marked and marshaled courses, fast and accurate chip timing with live online results, printable finisher certificates & personal finish line videos (weather permitting), three unique gender-specific shirts, tasty food, and lots of fun!

Refund and Cancellation Policy: We will make all efforts to hold the race, regardless of weather conditions, however we reserve the right to alter or shorten the course, or cancel the event in the case of extreme weather. We also acknowledge that changes in COVID (or some other public health emergency) restrictions may force the cancellation of the event. You may cancel your entry and receive a 75% credit (excluding online processing fees) until 30 days before the race. Credit will be good through 2027. Refunds or deferrals will not be issued for any reason. Entries can be transferred to a friend until 15 days before the race. No transfers of entry will be allowed fewer than 15 days before the race. If the race is cancelled, all in-person entrants will be moved into the virtual category for their distance and will receive a $10 credit which they may use for any Racing Underground owned event through 2027.
