A sprint series at three great venues just a short drive from anywhere on the Front Range. The series welcomes all ability levels.
Racing Underground has been producing first-class endurance events on the Colorado Front Range since 1995. In 2014, we bring you the second edition of the Front Range Triathlon Series!
This fun series combines three of the best sprint events in the region - each with a different style and each with it's own personality! These are not cookie-cutter events. Every race has fantastic post-race food, unmatched random prize drawings, and high quality tech shirts!
All 3-race finishers will go home with a series award, with the top point winners in each age group earning an age group champion plaque and a gift certificate from Excel Sports in Boulder.
There will also be a Club Championship series, with clubs earning valuable points at each race, that could net them a share of the $1,750 club cash purse! The top-3 clubs will take home $1,000, $500, and $250.
Join us this summer, and experience the Racing Underground difference!
Your series entry will include three unique and fun triathlons. Racing Underground events offer the perfect blend of professional event coordination with a laid back atmosphere. All participants will receive a high quality technical shirt at each race, a catered post-race meal following each event, a series award for all three-race finishers, speedy results from the best timer's in the business, and a chance to win some great sponsor gear in our post-race drawings.
Races may also be entered individually by visiting the race website for that event.
All 3-race finishers will take home a series finisher award. In addition, the following awards will be presented to series point winners:
Club Prize Money: The top-3 clubs in the series point standings will take home $1,000, $500, and $250 in club cash! Points will be earned at each event, and the team with the highest total of points will be declared the winner. All ties in the point standings will be broken by the place of the club's fastest finisher in the Littlefoot Triathlon.
Age Group Awards: The top series point winner in each 5-year age group will receive a gift certificate from Excel Sports. Age group points will be awarded at each race, and you must win points in at least 2 races to qualify for an age group award. All ties will be broken by the placing at the Littlefoot Triathlon.
Age Group Points: Age group points will be awarded to the top-10 finishers in each age group as well as Clydesdale and Athena. There will be no relay point standings or series awards. Age Group points will be awarded in each gender in the following amounts: 24-20-18-14-12-10-8-6-4-2. There will be a multiplier of 1.5 for the Littlefoot series finale, so 1st place at Littlefoot will be worth 36 points, 2nd will earn 30 points, etc. You must earn age group series points in a minimum of 2 races to qualify for a series award.
Club Points: Club points will be awarded in reverse-cross-country fashion for the top 5 men and top-5 women finishers from each club. In addition, clubs will be awarded 1 additional point for each club member who finishes the race. How does reverse cross country scoring work??? First, all club affiliations must be declared prior to the start of the race. Once the race starts, we cannot change an athlete's club status - even if your fastest guy forgets to tell us. Your race packet will list your club affiliation - please check this, and make any corrections at packet pickup. At the conclusion of the race, the total number of club entrants in the race will be totaled - let's use 100 club entrants (all clubs combined) as the total in this example. The first place overall club finisher will earn 100 points for their team, the second place overall club finisher will earn 99 points for their team, and so forth. The top-5 male and top-5 female finishers for each club will earn these valuable points. All finishers who are out of the top-5 will displace the finishers from other clubs for points, so every finisher, and every place, is important. We will also total the number of finishers for your team, and that number will be added to your score. So, if you have 10 men and 12 women who finish the race, your top-5 men and top-5 women will earn points for place, then you will receive another 25 bonus points because your club had 25 finishers. Your club will receive double participation points (2 points for each club finisher) at the Littlefoot series finale. In the unlikely event there is a point tie at the conclusion of the series, it will be broken by the placing of the fastest finisher from each club in the Littlefoot Triathlon.
Other Series Point Info: Series points will be awarded in the triathlon events only. There will be no points awarded for duathlon or aquabike finishers. In My Way or the Tri Way, all TRIATHLON orders will be combined to determine the top finishers and point winners. The Littlefoot Triathlon will be the series championship, and finishers in the individual point series' will win 1.5x the points of the other two events. All ties will be broken by the placing in the Littlefoot Tri. If neither tieing athlete finishes the Littlefoot Tri, then the tie will be broken using the placing in My Way or the Tri Way. An athlete must earn points in that prize pool in at least 2 events in order to be eligible for series awards. Points are not transferable between divisions (ex: you cannot race Clydesdale in one race, and age group in another, then combine the points). Series points will be considered final three days after each event. Any point dispute must be submitted by noon on the 3rd day after an event.
Most series details can be found right here on the series website. Details on individual series races are available on the website for that race. If you still can't find the answer to your question, please feel free to call us at 303-642-7917, or email email@example.com
