This update is a good one! I checked out the entire course this afternoon, and it is in prime shape. Dry run course and dry bike course. Should be a great day for racing Ð unless an unexpected storm blows in over the next two days.

SaturdayÕs race is a run-bike-run format. Both runs will be 2 miles (same course), and the bike course is a paved 10.8 mile route.

Start will be in a time trial format, with four start groups. All duathletes with a 200 series number will be in group-1 and will start one at a time with 10 seconds between starters. Once group-1 has started, we will move on to group-2 (400 series numbers), group-3 (500 series numbers) and group-4 (600 series numbers).

A pre-race briefing will be held in transition at 9:45am.

Bike racks will be pre-assigned with 2 bikes per rack. One bike on each side. Transition opens at 8:45am.

WeÕll see you on Saturday morning!!!

Directions and Parking: The event will start and finish at the Hobie Hill area, near the West Entrance to the park. From I-25 Take Exit 199 (Belleview) and turn East on Belleview. Drive approximately 1.5 miles to Dayton (there is a stoplight). Turn left on Dayton and drive approximately 0.5 miles. The park entrance will be on your right. Parking will take place at the Hobie Hill parking lot.

Once you are inside the park, signs will direct you to the Hobie Hill lot. Once Hobie Hill has filled, additional parking will be available at the Marina, just 200 yards beyond Hobie Hill.

PLEASE DO NOT drive or park in the grass. You will be ticketed and you will jeopardize our ability to hold the race in the future. Please do not stop on the road or off the road to unload your bike and gear. Doing so will violate a condition of our permit. If you are seen doing either of these things, you will not be permitted to race. Please park in a designated parking space and unload once you are parked.

All vehicles entering the park will be charged a $10 park entrance fee. This is a per-vehicle charge, so car-pooling is encouraged. Vehicles displaying a valid Colorado State Parks annual pass will not be charged.

If there is not an attendant at the gate, please use the credit card kiosk near the entrance station. Park rangers may ticket any vehicle not displaying a paid receipt or annual park pass.
