As you have probably guessed, the Chilly Cheeks run and bike courses are dry and race ready!!! We are excited to kick off the 2021-2022 Chilly Cheeks Series on Saturday morning.

The forecast is calling for lots of sunshine, but it will be in the 30's at the start and warming to 40's by the time you finish.

Directions and Parking: The event will start and finish at the Hobie Hill area, near the West Entrance to the park. From I-25 Take Exit 199 (Belleview) and turn East on Belleview. Drive approximately 1.5 miles to Dayton (there is a stoplight). Turn left on Dayton and drive approximately 0.5 miles. The park entrance will be on your right. Parking will take place at the Hobie Hill parking lot.

Once you are inside the park, signs will direct you to the Hobie Hill lot. Once Hobie Hill has filled, additional parking will be available at the Marina, just 200 yards beyond Hobie Hill. Parking is not allowed in any other locations within the park.

PLEASE DO NOT drive or park in the grass. You will be ticketed and you will jeopardize our ability to hold the race in the future. Please do not stop on the road or off the road to unload your bike and gear. Doing so will violate a condition of our permit. If you are seen doing either of these things, you will not be permitted to race. Please park in a designated parking space and unload once you are parked.

All vehicles entering the park will be charged an $11 park entrance fee. This is a per-vehicle charge, so car-pooling is encouraged. Vehicles displaying a valid Colorado State Parks annual pass will not be charged.

If there is not an attendant at the gate, please use the credit card kiosk near the entrance station. Park rangers may ticket any vehicle not displaying a paid receipt or annual park pass.

Course and Race Info: Saturday's duathlon starts with a 4 mile run and finishes with a 10.8 mile bike ride. The start will have two waves, with all men starting at 10:00am and all women starting at 10:03am. The start line is located just 200 yards down the hill from packet pickup and transition. Headphones are not allowed on the run or the bike.

Run-Only participants will start along with the duathletes in the appropriate wave for their gender. If you plan to run the race with a member of the opposite gender, please let us know at packet pickup. You will both start together in wave-2 at 10:03. Finish times for run-only participants will be recorded as you enter the duathlon transition area. Run-only participants will have a disposable timing chip on the back of their bib number. There is no need to return the disposable chips.

Duathletes will switch from run to bike in the transition area, then walk or jog their bike to the Mount sign. The bike course is 10.8 miles and will finish near the start line. Volunteers will collect your timing chip at the bike finish. Duathletes will wear an ankle chip on a comfortable neoprene strap. These chips will be in your race packet and should be worn on your left ankle.

Please pay attention to race rules while cycling:
